Easy Abs Exercise with No Head or Neck Strain

In less than 90 seconds, you’ll learn an effective, yet simple abs move by watching this video.

If you’ve been looking for an abs move that will strengthen your core, but avoid neck strain, you’ve come to the right place.

The Diagonal Bug looks like its name and is great for the obliques and transversus. Similar to the exercise we shared for the rectus abdominis, this one is easy to do correctly while avoiding neck or head strain. Our colleague Shari Kalkstein, from whom we learned this move, is great at creating abdominal strengthening exercises that help you avoid forward spinal flexion.

By the way, if you are watching the video from a chair, while eating a junk food snack, get thee onto a mat and do this exercise along with us.Not with a fox. Wait, I want to be a fox.

Not in your chair.
Not on a dare.
Not with a snack.
Not hurting your back.

You should now try it anywhere.

    I love these helpful moves. Plenty of younger people have trouble with neck strain too so this is FANTASTIC!!! Love the cartoon too!!! :-D

    That’s a wonderful ab exercise! I’ve been struggling with trying to reduce my growing belly for quite some time now. That ab move is definitely worth a try! Instead of going to the gym, just executing that exercise is already enough. Thanks for the tip! I can’t believe how easy it is! All I need is a mat and I’m good to go!

    So how long, one should do this exercise to see results. I hope 3 months of exercise should show some result?

      Great question. To SEE results, you’d have to do more than this exercise as so many other factors come into play to create visible changes. To FEEL results, that can occur between 1 and 12 weeks depending on genetics, coordination, and how often you are exercising. You will gain additional strength almost right away even if you don’t see any difference.

    Hi Kimberly, thank for posting this! I also have problem getting my neck strained even I’m just… 26 years old :D Even I want to have flat abs so badly, getting neck strained while work out is not fun at all! Thanks for let me know how to do work out without getting our neck broken :)
